岩爆 是指地下开采的深部或构造应力很高的区域，在临空岩体中发生突发式破坏的现象。这种现象也称为岩爆。发生的原因是临空岩体积聚的应变能突然而猛烈地全部释放，致使岩体发生像爆炸一样的脆性断裂。冲击地压造成大量岩石崩落，并产生巨大声响和气浪冲击，不但可将矿井破坏，而且震动波可危及地面建筑物。
