山甘草，中药名。为茜草科玉叶金花属植物玉叶金花Mussaenda pubescens Ait. f.、展枝玉叶金花Mussaenda divaricata Hutch的茎叶。植物玉叶金花，分布于我国长江以南各地；植物展枝玉叶金花，分布于我国湖北、广东、广西、四川、贵州、云南等地。具有清热利湿，解毒消肿之功效。主治感冒，中暑发热，咳嗽，咽喉肿痛，泄泻，痢疾，肾炎水肿，湿热小便不利，疮疡脓肿，毒蛇咬伤。
