系小腿的主要浅静脉之一。小隐静脉在足外侧，起自足背静脉弓，经外踝后方，沿小腿后面上行，过腓肠肌内、外两头间到腘窝，穿筋膜注入腘静脉。此静脉在行程中有许多小支与大隐静脉的属支相吻合。由于动力的关系，小隐静脉回流易受阻，多易发生曲张，有的可形成血栓和发生血栓性脉管炎；曲张的静脉破溃后形成小腿溃疡、长期不愈。
