小孔ostium 系海绵动物的体壁外面，即皮层中无数散在性的小孔，水流由此进入沟系。具单沟型沟系的海绵，由进水小孔流入的水经胃腔从上端的出水孔排出，因此自进水小孔贯通体壁到达胃腔的管有两个孔：体表的孔（即入口）和胃腔壁的孔（即出口）。前者称为皮孔（dermal ostium），后者称为胃孔（ gastralostium）。钙质海绵纲单沟型的皮孔称为孔（pore），双沟型和复沟型的皮孔称为小孔ostium，以示区别。此外，位于节肢动物心脏侧面的孔——心门——亦称ostium。
