【定根】 梵语sama^dhi^ndriya，巴利语sama^dhindriya。为三十七品菩提分法与二十二根中五根（信根、精进根、念根、定根、慧根）之一。又作禅定根。根，梵语indriya，含有增上、生长之义。定根，即指使心止于一处，不为外境动摇之禅定力；盖此禅定力能生起一切之功德，故谓之‘根’。 生物学解释 主根，侧根和纤维根都是直接或间接地由胚根生长出来的，有固定的生长部位。
