定制机是指，电信运营商专门定制的手机，此类手机植入了电信运营商的某些扩展应用和服务项目。定制机，是相对非定制机而言的。非定制机因为不存在电信运营商支付的部分成本，所以比定制机要贵一些。市面上一般不声明为定制机的手机均为非定制机。 定制机就好比某间工厂定制一批厂服，款式由工厂选定，只不过在厂服上另外印制了工厂的标志等。而其手机的基本电话功能是不会有太多的改变的。
