宗钦，（公元？年—四五〇年）字景若，金城人。生年不详，卒于魏太武帝太平真君十一年。少而好学，有儒都之风，博综群书，声著河右。初仕北凉沮渠蒙逊为中书郎，世子洗马。太武帝平凉州，赐爵卧树男，拜著作郎。崔浩因国书事被诛，钦亦赐死。钦著有东宫侍臣箴、与高允书及诗十二首，载魏书本传。有文集二卷，（《隋书志》、《两唐志》均著录）及蒙逊记十卷（本传云：“在河西撰，无足可称。”）并传于世。
当代导师中具有如宗萨钦哲仁波切般的资格而足称为上师者，仅为少数，仁波切承继了一个佛教开悟大师们悠远且著名的传承。
