安宁河，汉代称为孙水，晋代称白沙江，唐代称长江水，其北源称长河。因元代有泸沽治所，故又名泸沽水，明代称宁远河，清代始名安宁河。 安宁河，凉山的母亲河，是雅砻江下游左岸最大支流，清代始名安宁河，河长326公里，流域面积11150平方公里。发源于四川省冕宁县东小相岭记牌山，流经凉山州的冕宁、西昌、德昌三县市后，入攀枝花市境内，流经米易县，后成为米易县与盐边县部分界限，最后于米易县得石镇（盐边县桐子林镇火车站以北2公里）汇入雅砻江。
