婴儿孤独症是发生在婴儿时期的一种特殊的精神障碍。1943年最早由Kanner以“情感接触中孤独性障碍”为题报告了本征。过去曾经认为，其病因可能与社会心理因素有关，但现在的研究认为，孤独症并不是缺乏温暖的教养环境所造成的，而是遗传基因、脑部疾病或创伤及其他生理原因造成的。其临床症状为：在乳儿期就极为孤独，不愿与人接触，患者成长过程中少言寡语，言语交往能力差，固执任性，墨守成规，反对做任何改变。对玩具等某些物体，过分依恋，不能分离。另外情绪不稳，对刺激反应过度或不足。诊断主要依据上述典型临床症状。
