复方丹参含脂溶性的多种丹参酮类及水溶性的原儿茶酚醛和儿茶酚的衍生物。现代药理研究证实，具有增加冠状动脉流量，增大心肌对缺氧耐受力，促进心肌梗死区提早愈合与再生等作用；有改善肾内微循环，增加肾血流量等作用；具有改善微循环、抗病毒、抗凝、抑制血小板聚集、激活纤溶、改善代谢、调节免疫等功能。 本品所含总丹参酮对金黄色葡萄球菌、溶血性链球菌及结核杆菌均有抑制作用，对耐青霉素G的金黄色葡萄球菌也有效，此外还并有抗炎作用及降低体温的作用。
