圆球体(spherosomes)是膜包裹着的圆球状小体，直径为0.1-1μm，染色反应似脂肪，用锇酸固定后成为或多或少深色的球体。电子显微镜观察指出，它的膜只有一层电子不透明带（暗带），而不像正常的单位膜具二个暗带，因此可能只是单位膜的一半。其化学组成主要是脂类和蛋白质。脂类约占40%。相当于动物细胞溶酶体。
