和金又名和锦，是日本金鱼中古老而常见的品种，是在明代由中国传入日本的绯鲋（红鲫鱼）的基础上培育而成，适合从上部观赏，也适合从侧面观赏，颜色有红白花、红色、白色，各鳍短小，尾鳍四叉。体质强健，适应能力强，容易饲养。在水池中可与锦鲤混养，但却长不了锦鲤那么大。
