周集中，1959年8月出生于湖南新邵，生物学家，现任美国橡树岭国家实验室环境基因组学研究中心主任，清华大学环境学院教授。 1981年12月毕业于湖南农业大学植物保护专业，后又获得该校昆虫专业硕士学位并留校任教。后在美国华盛顿州立大学获得分子遗传学和细胞生物学博士学位。2001年7月12日在白宫授予其美国总统青年科学家奖。
