向海原名“香海”，国家级自然保护区位于吉林省白城市通榆县境，科尔沁草原中部。是国家级自然保护区，国家AAAA级自然保护区、国际AAA级自然保护区总面积为10.67万公顷，为典型的草原地貌。南北最长 45 公里，东西最宽 42 公里，西与内蒙古科右中旗接壤，北与洮南市相邻。保护区南部有霍林河贯穿东西，中部有额穆泰河流进湿地，北部引洮儿河水注入水库。保护区横跨通榆县五个乡镇场、十二个村、三十二个自然屯，二万人口在区内从事着农、林、牧、副、渔各业生产。
