后熟的概念：种子成熟应该包括两方面的意义，即种子形态上的成熟和生理上的成熟，只具备其中一个条件时，都不能称为种子真正的成熟。种子形态成熟后被收获，并与母株脱离，但种子内部的生理生化过程仍然继续进行，直到生理成熟。这段时期的变化实质上是成熟过程的延续，又是在收获后进行的，所以称为后熟。
