合作小组是由从事商品购销活动的个体户在自愿的原则下，共同组成的商业组织。也是集体商业的一种形式。合作小组用各入组户共同筹集的资金向工厂或其他商业批发单位统一组织货源，按进货的成本价供应给小组的个体户，各个体户分散经营，各自计算其盈亏。合作小组基本上仍未改变个体经营的方式，但能以小组所掌握的信息和货源渠道为各个体户服务，该小组仍属于一种互助性质的组织。合作小组一般要从小组成员的营业收入中提取一定比例的互助合作基金，以解决合作小组进行业务经营所必须的经费开支和个别小组人员生活上的困难。
