系有刺胞动物水螅型之游离端。它与附着端的足盘两者之间以柱状部相对应。口盘略宽于柱状部，其中央部一般呈圆锥形隆起，口开于顶端，所以称为口锥（垂唇）。口盘周围排列着一圈或数圈触手，口外也有一群触手称为口触手（oral tentacle，distal tentacle）。
常分为口盘(oral disc)、柱体(column)和基(足)盘(pedal disc)几部分。口位于扁平圆盘状的口盘(oral disc,distal end,peristome)表面(无口锥或口垂)。
