产生影响的细胞称诱导者（inducer）或组织者，被影响（诱导）的细胞叫反应细胞（responding cell）。反应细胞只是在一定时间内对诱导者发生反应，一旦超出临界时间，反应能力会逐渐减退以致完全消失。
