原子核模型(nuclear models) 在实验事实的基础上建立的描述核结构的模型。由于至今对于核力还不能作严格而全面的描述，为了说明核结构特性，只能在实验事实的基础上建立有关核结构的唯象的模型，再将由此得出的结果与更多的实验事实作比较，使之完善充实。这种模型的研究方法往往成为新的理论和实验研究的起点。从20世纪30年代认识核由质子和中子组成后，已经提出多种核结构模型，如费米气体模型、液滴模型、壳层模型、综合模型、超导模型、相互作用玻色子模型等等。这些模型都能解释一定的实验事实，但不能说明另外一些事实，还没有一种结构模型能够统一说明各种事实。综合各种模型可以获得比较全面的原子核结构的图像。
