南淝河，古称施水，长江流域巢湖的支流。发源于合肥市西北部江淮分水岭东南侧，跨蜀山区、长丰县两地交界处高刘镇岗北村何老家村民组西北侧的红石桥。经鸡鸣山，向东南流入董铺水库，穿合肥城区，再转向东南流经合肥市包河区和肥东县边界，于施口注入巢湖。南淝河全长70公里，流域面积1700平方公里。 南淝河是合肥的母亲河，其上游的董铺等水库是合肥市的水源地，河道历史上是合肥市区的重要航道，传说，合肥之名也是因为南淝河和东淝河相交得名，合肥（淝）。
