又称青藏高压,夏季见于青藏高原对流层上层(100百帕)表现最强的暖性高压。它虽然生成于副热带,但与一般的副热带高压的动力性质和生成机制并不完全相同。它是由于夏季高原上低层为热低压,低层气流辐合上升,高层空气质量堆积产生辐散而形成的高压。据研究,它的进退活动与中国东部地区的旱涝关系十分密切。
