又称独立基础。用于单柱或高耸构筑物并自成一体的基础。它的型式按材料性能和受力状态选定。平面形式一般为圆形或多边形。但除了自重和竖直活载以外，风荷载是高耸构筑物的主要设计荷载，为了使基础在各个方向具有大致相同的抗倾覆稳定系数，采用圆形基础最为合适。由于这类构筑物的重心很高。基础有少量倾斜就会使荷载的偏心距加大，从而导致倾斜的进一步发展。因此这类基础变形用容许倾斜来控制。当软土地基上的倾斜超过限值时，经常采用桩基础。
