北亚美利加洲，简称北美洲。 位置：位于西半球北部。东滨大西洋，西临太平洋，北濒北冰洋，南以巴拿马运河为界与南美洲相分。人口 46 200万，约占世界总人口的8%。全洲人口分布很不均衡，人口绝大部分分布在东南部地区，其中以纽约附近和伊利湖周围人口密度最大，每平方千米在200人以上；而面积广大的北部地区和美国西部内陆地区人口稀少，每平方千米不到1人。大部分居民是欧洲移民的后裔， 居民主要信基督教和天主教。
