北票组 原称“北票煤系”。中侏罗世。最初命名地点在中国辽西北票市，故名。分布于辽西一带。为陆相含煤沉积，按岩性可分下、上两部：下部火山岩系，安山岩质凝灰岩、凝灰质砾岩，厚约360—500米；上部含煤系，砂岩、页岩夹煤层，厚约1000—1500米，含华丽凤尾银杏、威廉逊拟托蕨等化石。本组与下伏元古界呈不整合接触。
北票组烃源岩有机质丰度不高，属差—中等烃源岩；
