北京电视中心是北京电视台新台址，为北京市60项重点工程之一，并被列入2008奥运行动规划。项目占地面积约3.61万平方米，按照规划控制规模为25万平方米，其中，一期工程建筑面积约19.7万平方米，建筑安装投资约20多亿元人民币。工程于2002年12月12日奠基开工，在市委、市政府的关心和大力支持下，工程进展比较顺利并取得了阶段性成果，目前已全部竣工。
