匐读fúㄈㄨˊ。从勹畐声。“象人曲形，有所包裹”是“勹”之范式。器盛而满是“畐”之范式。勹畐会意。身所包满为“匐”之范式。本义：伏地。如：《说文解字》：“伏地也。从勹畐声。”。 文献中皆“匍匐”连用，为联绵词。联绵词有些是以其中一字为重音表示义。一为衬音不表义。“匍匐”两字重在“匍”字上。“匐”只作为陪衬音的辅助存在。
