由两个斜度为1：100的楔键组成。其上下两面（窄面）为工作面，其中之一面在通过轴心线的平面内。工作面上的压力沿轴的切线方向作用，能传递很大的转矩。一对切向键只能传递一个方向的转矩，传递双向转矩时，须用互成120°～130°角的两对键。切向键都是成对使用的。
