《出版发行研究》杂志创刊于1985年7月，是新闻出版总署主管、中国新闻出版研究院（其前身为中国出版科学研究所）主办的出版行业学术性刊物，它是适应我国出版体制改革、总结出版工作丰富的实践经验、开展出版学理论研究、加强国内外学术交流、探索出版工作规律的需要而创办的。创刊时刊名为《出版与发行》，1988年刊物更名为《出版发行研究》。
直至今日，米塞斯研究院仍在出版发行这本书，并且一直热卖。
