养禽业是饲养家禽的生产事业。是畜牧业的组成部分。以饲养鸡、鸭、鹅、火鸡、鸽、鹌鹑等为主要内容。它较之饲养猪、羊等家畜，具有生产周期短、饲料转化率高、投资少等优点。养禽业是我国最早的农业活动之一，同时，我国也是世界上最早饲养家禽的国家之一。目前，我国养禽业范围广但规模小，饲养手段落后，有待于进一步发展。
