光具座是一种多功能的通用光学仪器。用于测试的光具座在导轨座上配备平行光管、自准望远镜、测量显微镜及夹持器等独立组件，按需要排列、调节，可进行多项测试工作。用于物理实验的光具座由导轨、滑动座(光具凳)、光源、可调狭缝、像屏和各种夹持器组成，按实验需要另配光学元件，如透镜、棱镜、偏振片等组成光学系统。常用的导轨长度为1-2m，导轨上有米尺，滑动座上有定位线，便于确定光学元件的位置。
