基督教（天主教、东正教、新教）权威性的基本信仰纲要。信经一词源于拉丁文credo,原意为“我信”，一些古老信经的经文常以此词开头，后衍化为对这类经文的称谓。最初信经格式并不统一。1～2世纪各地教会信徒在受洗入教前，必须学习和诵读简短的“洗礼认信式”,后形成信规，或称真理规范。
