传播学派是西方民族学学派之一，一译“播化学派”。19世纪末至20世纪初形成于德国。其创始人为民族学家R.F.格雷布纳。属于这一学派的代表人物还有W.福伊和B.安克曼。当时，随着资本主义发展到帝国主义阶段，资产阶级学术思想转向反动。 为了与马克思主义的影响相对抗，在西方民族学界亦开始出现反对进化学派的浪潮。传播学派即是在此浪潮中产生的第一个反进化论的学派。其基本理论是直接与“进化论”(evolutionism)相对立的“传播论”（diffusionism）。这一理论是在地理学家F.拉策尔“人类地理学派”观点的影响下形成的。
