会试是中国古代科举制度中的中央考试，又叫春闱。应考者为各省的举人，录取者称为“贡士”，第一名称为“会元”。会试，科举考试名目之一。所谓会试者，共会一处，比试科艺。由礼部主持，在京师举行考试。会试在北京内城东南方的贡院举行。会试的主考官4人（明代为2人）称总裁，以进士出身的大学士、尚书以下副都御史以上的官员，由部都请派充。
