休眠植物（dormancy plant）是指在在生长期内某时段处于休眠状态的植物。休眠是指植物体或其器官在发育的某个时期生长和代谢暂时停顿的现象；通常特指由内部生理原因决定，即使外界条件（温度、水分）适宜也不能萌动和生长的现象。种子、茎（包括鳞茎、块茎）、块根上的芽都可以处于休眠状态。
