仰焊就是焊接中，焊接位置处于水平下方的焊接。仰焊是四种基本焊接位置中最困难的一种焊接。由于熔池位置在焊件下面，焊条熔滴金属的重力会阻碍熔滴过度，熔池金属也受自身重力作用下坠，熔池体积越大温度越高，则熔池表面涨力越小，故仰焊时焊缝背面容易产生凹陷，正面焊道出现焊瘤，焊道形成困难。
