人种是世界人类种族的简称，是指人类在一定的区域内，历史上所形成的、在体质上具有某些共同遗传性状（包括肤色、眼色、发色和发型、身高、面型、头型、鼻型、血型、遗传性疾病等）的人群。人种的概念，最初于1684年由法国博物学家伯尼埃首先提出的。 人种学研究的任务是对全世界各人种建立科学的分类系统，追溯各人种及其体质特征的形成和人种间亲缘关系的历史过程，并对这一过程进行科学的解释。三大人种：黄种人（亚美人种）、白种人（欧罗巴人种）、黑种人（尼格罗人种）。
