交流接触器常采用双断口电动灭弧、纵缝灭弧和栅片灭弧三种灭弧方法。用以消除动、静触头在分、合过程中产生的电弧。容量在10A 以上的接触器都有灭弧装置。交流接触器还有反作用弹簧、缓冲弹簧、触头压力弹簧、传动机构、底座及接线柱等辅助部件。
