云南虫(Yunnanozoon)属于脊索动物门（也有人认为其属于半索动物门），也有可能是最古老的脊索动物。云南虫生活在约5.3亿年前寒武纪前期的浅海中。1991年被侯先光发现于中国云南澄江县帽天山，并命名为云南虫。是澄江生物群中最重要的发现之一。
这套地层已经问世几十年了，但它自1995年起才被大量关注，当时南古所的陈均远报道了4厘米长的生物云南虫(Yunnanozoon)，并提出它是包括脊椎动物在内的脊索动物的一种。
