二月初二，旧称土地诞辰。是一个古老的中国传统节日。这一天大家食油煎年糕，称“撑腰糕”，以示即将开始农事，需强健身体之意。海宁一带称此日为“萝卜生日”。据《古禾杂识》记载：“二月二日土地生日，俗食油熯年糕，谓之‘撑腰’。是日乡间下瓜茄诸菜种。庙中或醵钱奏乐一天，晚放花爆。” 农历二月初二，中国民间传说，每逢这天，是天上主管云雨的龙王抬头的日子；从此以后，雨水会逐渐增多。这天又叫“春龙节”。我国北方广泛地流传着“二月二，龙抬头；大仓满，小仓流”的民谚。
