中间型 intermediate form 指分类学中处于二类中间的一种形态。从进化观点看，常看做是一种过渡型。但正如始祖鸟已经是鸟类而不是鸟类与爬虫类的完全中间型，所以真正的中间型是很难发现的。虽然如此，但是仍然把中间型作进化形式的一个方面。另外，属于现存的某一种的亚种之间，经常在其接触地区杂交而产生中间形态。这也只能是一种中间型。今存在这样的中间型时，伦希出（B．Rensch，1929）把中间型间各各能区别的形态作为地理品种，而把整个中间型称为连系群。
