中央结算系统是香港股票电子结算系统之一，于1992年6月24日开通投入运行。该系统是按照国际证券市场的结算与支付体系和“国际30人小组” 的建议为标准设计的。它以电子记账方式结算，取代了联交所过去沿用的 “一手交股票，一手交支票” 的实物证券结算支付方式，从根本上改变了香港证券市场结算与支付体系的落后的状况。
