中央前回系大脑的回之一。中央前回在大脑皮质的额叶，位于中央沟与中央前沟之间。中央前回含有大量巨大的锥体细胞，是运动中枢所在。此区锥体细胞发出的纤维组成锥体系，止于脊髓前角运动细胞。 额叶的上升侧面上有与中央沟平行的中央前沟，二者间为中央前回。为皮质运动区，管理对侧半身的随意运动。如损伤，可引起对侧偏瘫。
中央前回 （ Precentral gyrus ）位于中央沟之正前方，为重要之脑回。中央后回（Postcentral gyrus）位于中央沟之正前方，亦为重要之脑回。
