丙氨酸转氨酶又称谷丙转氨酶，简称GPT、ALT。丙氨酸转氨酶存在于肝脏、心脏和骨骼肌中，主要存在于肝细胞浆内，其细胞内浓度高于血清中1000-3000倍。肝细胞或某些组织损伤或坏死，都会使血液中的丙氨酸转氨酶升高。1%的肝细胞损伤可以使血液中的丙氨酸转氨酶浓度升高一倍。因此，丙氨酸转氨酶是反映肝细胞受损程度最灵敏的指标，在肝功能检查中最为常用。
