且兰国（古国名），2000多年前与夜郎同时存在的部落酋长国。且兰始见于《后汉书》：“初，楚顷襄王时，遣将庄乔从沅水伐夜郎，军至且兰，琢船于岸而步战。既灭夜郎，因留王滇池”。汉元鼎六年（公元前111年）平且兰置牂牁郡。现且兰黄平，主要指古且兰国范围内的疆，辖现今黄平全境，县治四屏镇，且兰古国都治所旧州古城，且兰黄平是黄平对外宣传的品牌，已注册国家商标。（笔者注）
