上海农场于1950年3月15日由解放后上海市首任市长陈毅亲自批准建立，几经变更于1974年4月对外正式称“上海市上海农场”，至今已有近60年的光荣历史。农场的发展受到上海市委、市府领导的高度关注和大力支持。
