指上林县。上林县历史悠久。秦朝即为桂林郡地，自唐武德四年（621年）置上林县，属南方州，此为“上林”名称由来。1958年广西壮族自治区成立后，改属南宁专区专员公署，1971年属南宁地区行政公署至今。1958年冬，上林曾与宾阳并称宾林县，翌年夏，重又分开恢复上林县建置至今。
