In her remarks at the session on education, Ms. Katherine Muller-Marin, UNESCO Representative to Viet Nam, said the UN is ready to support Viet Nam to building a learning society where all citizens, particularly young and disadvantaged people are encouraged to engage in learning throughout their lifetime.
According to the 2009 Census on Population and Housing, young people aged 10 to 30 years constitute approximately 40 per cent of the population of Viet Nam, representing an increasingly important proportion of the population.
