Worse yet, U.S. policy-makers -- and here, I regret to say, Imust assign some blame to the legislative branch as well as the executive branch -- have seized upon the perceived public's lack of concern with security policy to take steps that will greatly magnify the dangers of applying inadequate leadership, attention and resources to world affairs.
Despite the high priced political talent at the head of these groups, and funding from any number of sympathetic Democratic stalwarts, I have yet to see so much as one television ad meant to remind the public that health care reform must remain a living, breathing national priority that we simply cannot afford to forget.
