"Our objective is to restore the viability of banks receiving aid so that they are able to function withoutpublicsupport in the future, " the European Competition Commissioner Joaquin Almunia said.
"Despite having tremendous voluntary support, but withoutpublic subsidy and with increased competition, we no longer have the ready finances to move forward and support a festival for another year, " it said.
