US equities were down almost 10% during the month, until a rally in the last week enabled markets to recoup some of their losses. The S&P 500 Index finally ended November down 4.4%, while the FTSE World Europe fell 4.5%. Emerging markets also fell. Within Asia, the sharpest falls were in Chinese equity markets, which were strong performers in previous months. The MSCI China fell 13.2% during the month.
